Elude Procrastination
As humans, we are not superlative at adapting ourselves easily.

 What is Procrastination?

Procrastination is the action of delaying or postponing something. It is a tarp where many of us fall onto. According to the academic scholars and speakers, 95% of us procrastinate to some level. It is the blight of every second person’s actuality. It is an act where we know that what our responsibility is; but we just elude completing it instantaneously as it is very easy to put off adverse work until the very last minute of deadline which makes us tired, frustrated and turning the work into a liability.

Why do people Procrastinate?

There are many reasons for procrastinating; some common reasons are
·         Some procrastinate because they just love the excitement of doing everything at the last minute or they just think that they still have plenty of time to complete and end up making them exhausted while doing everything at last minute
·         Some are afraid of failure or success as they’re scared of other’s opinion
·         Some are just bad at decision making or taking responsibility for the consequences that come with them
Basically, the last two reasons happen when the person has low self-esteem, anxiety or negative associations. But the 1st reason listed is something we should work upon.

Procrastination Vs Laziness

Many of us think that procrastination and laziness is the same thing. However, laziness should not be confused with procrastination.

Procrastination is an active exertion because we opt to do something else instead of the task that we know we must be doing.

However, laziness
shows inactiveness, indifference and an unenthusiastic action.

My 7 Effective tips to avoid procrastination and jump into action: -
  •  Change your surrounding: - When you procrastinate, the hardest thing is to get started. To get over this, make the environment work friendly and encouraging so that getting started will not be tricky any longer as the feeling around you will help the most to get started
  • Keep a journal/ planner: - Writing down goals on a piece of paper helps you stay committed towards achieving them. List steps with deadlines and plans. Helps also to track your progress

  • Breaking tasks into small steps: Never be astounded by the size of the task, break it into convenient steps. It is not important to have all the steps chalked out for you. First start with the very first task and your next step will become obvious as you move along

  • Set deadline: - As setting yourself specific deadlines to complete tasks will thoroughly help you to be on track in order to achieve your goals

  • Reward yourself: -   As & when your tasks are complete, celebrate the progress as you go along. This will help you to boost up the mind to work more. Never forget to acknowledge your progress

  • Use the 3-minute rule: - If you’re a chronic procrastinator, this is for you. The real goal is to do way more than just 3 minutes. However, this will act as a warm-up for you to achieve the entire goal

  • Minimize distractions: - Turn off all those social media notifications which tend to distract you from the work

Building momentum is decisive as you start out. So pledge to moving out of your comfort zone now.

Time in a Bottle - Jim Croce

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day
'Til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you
If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you
But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
Through time with
